Merge tower defense

CogGrid: Laser & Gear TD

Merge parts, route the power and defend your castle from the robot army.

Build the machine, defend the castle

CogGrid: Laser & Gear TD puts a grid of parts under your castle wall. Energy Cores make power and send it the way their arrows point, Power Gears carry and boost it, Prism Lenses split it, and the turrets on the wall turn it into lasers, plasma, lightning and cannon fire.

Drop a part on its twin to merge it into a stronger one, tap it to turn it, and keep the power flowing to the right turret while the robots march on the wall. Each chapter has 20 waves with a boss every five, and every boss you beat lets you pick a boost for the rest of the run.

Gems from victories buy permanent upgrades for your castle and workshop, and the chapters never end: the robots grow tougher, new regions and bosses come round, and your parts can climb to level 30. The game plays offline, has nothing for sale and shows a video ad only when you tap an offer that asks for one.

Inside the game

01

Merge and route

Merge matching cores, gears, lenses and batteries into stronger parts, then turn them so the energy reaches every turret you need.

02

Four turrets

A precise Laser, area-damage Plasma, a Tesla that chains from robot to robot and a Cannon that knocks them back. Each one answers a different threat.

03

Robots with a plan

Shielded robots, medics that repair, splitters, jammers that silence turrets and bombers that blast the wall. From chapter 15, elites come fast, regenerating, armored or shielded.

04

Eight regions, eight bosses

From the Violet Keep to the Neon City, every region has its own boss with its own trick: one heals, one freezes your turrets, one teleports.

05

A rule every chapter

Pick one of 15 chapter rules, such as Horde, Glass Cannon or Armored Army. Harder rules pay more gems.

06

Boosts after every boss

Choose from 21 boosts like Chain Reaction, Freezing Crits and Last Stand, so no two runs play the same.

07

Endless chapters

Permanent upgrades, a win streak that grows your rewards and, from chapter 25, a 30-step danger level for players who want more.

08

Daily goals, eight languages

Daily quests, a daily challenge and tiered achievements, in English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian and Indonesian.

How it's built

CogGrid is built with the Godot 4 engine in GDScript, on its GL Compatibility renderer so it runs on older phones too. The turrets, robots, bosses and parts are 3D models rendered into sprites in Blender, and the effects scale themselves down when a phone falls below its frame rate. Google AdMob serves the optional rewarded ads and Firebase Crashlytics reports crashes.
