Built for surveyors in the field
TopoNode is an offline-first Android surveying app built for geodetic and land surveying engineers. It connects to an external GNSS receiver over Bluetooth, reads its raw NMEA stream, and runs survey calculations on a double-precision COGO engine.
Maps are drawn with MapLibre. You can download an area of your basemap before going out, or load an MBTiles or GeoTIFF file that needs no network at all. Projects and points stay in a local database on the device, with no account or backend, and the app goes online only for an NTRIP correction stream or a web basemap you set up.
TopoNode is in development and not yet on Google Play.

Offline basemaps
Download an area of your XYZ or WMS basemap before going out, or load an MBTiles archive or GeoTIFF that draws with no network at all.

COGO engine
Compute azimuths, polar points, distances and intersections in double precision. Site calibration ties the job to local control with a 2D Helmert transformation.

Bluetooth GNSS receivers
Connect a GNSS receiver over Bluetooth Classic or BLE. TopoNode reads position, fix quality and precision from its NMEA stream and can pass NTRIP corrections to it for RTK.

Stakeout and traverse
Stake out to a point, along a line or by chainage and offset on an alignment. Adjust a traverse with the Bowditch rule and see its closure as 1:N.

Survey file formats
Export to CSV, DXF, KML, GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoPackage, LandXML, NetCAD NCN and TUCBS GML, and produce PDF reports for the office.
How it's built
Written in Kotlin following Clean Architecture and MVVM, with the geodetic core in its own plain Kotlin module. The interface uses Jetpack Compose and Hilt, data is stored with Room on SQLite under UUID keys, MapLibre draws the maps and Proj4J handles projections.
